Mallorca is a Mecca for sailors from across the globe and the island’s lavish attractions, including some of the most exquisite scenery and even the brilliance of its more populated holiday spots illuminated by night, are best savoured from off shore.
On board one of our expertly crewed, luxury catamarans you get the best of all worlds, the magical experience of sailing crystal-clear waters while being waited on in style, and stopping off to swim, sightsee and shop during a week of pure indulgence.
Your captain will be your guide. He knows all the best beaches, creeks, coves, unspoilt fishing villages and happening places the island has to offer. From the minute you join your yacht in Palma’s glittering marina the pleasure begins.
On your first night you will dine gourmet-style ─ a taste of things to come ─ with your fellow passengers, and then have time to explore the nightlife of Palma’s Old City. Next morning it’s time to set sail for the parts of Mallorca land-based holidays cannot reach.
The Isla Cabrera National Park, the Galapagos of the Med, can only be visited by boat. With your special permit, you are free to explore this unique island with or without a guide. Besides the flora and fauna, there’s a 14th century castle, a lighthouse and underwater caves that you reach by snorkelling or by kayak.
It’s hard to appreciate the beauty of the eastern side of Cabrera other than from the shimmering sea. From the deck, take in its rugged beauty and watch for dolphins that play around the bow wave as you sail.
Cruising to the south-west coast takes you to fashionable Cala Portal Vells and its remarkable caves. Only on yachting holiday like this can you elegantly drop anchor in the smart marina of Port Andratx ─ felling every bit the celebrity and where you may even spot some Hollywood A-listers ─ in time to watch a stunning sunset. Impressive villas dot the coastline while the narrow cobbled streets of the old town evoke authentic Mallorca. And there has only ever been one way to arrive at the beautiful Bay of Illetas, one of the prettiest resorts close to Palma, and that is aboard a luxury catamaran aboard a luxury catamaran.
How else can you reach Sa Dragonera? A rocky island just west of Mallorca famed for its dramatic cliffs. Or how would you find your way into one of the many calas, or coves, for a swim or a snorkel? Then there’s the opportunity to sail to Santa Ponsa and spend a night in your own bay.
Don’t forget water sports – an integral part of any Mallorcan yachting holiday – especially when you glide into Palma Nova on the idyllic south-west tip of the island. Sail your own dinghy, or pull on the water-skis.
On day seven it’s back to Palma for a last night in the company of this vibrant city, and a chance to take a final lingering look from the deck next day.
